About Radiance of Sarasota

Our Beginnings

How we began

In April of 2004 the former I Am Healing Arts Center was founded by a group of individuals with the purpose of The Center being to offer individuals support through educational opportunities and wellness activities to make a positive and profound difference in the lives of those in our community. Over the next five years, The Center explored and incorporated a wide spectrum of approaches such as integrated holistic medicine, an extensive educational focus, with clinical and team dynamics to better fulfill its mission.

As we grew, we determined the need for research to see if needs were being met within the community; the developmental team and the Board of Directors determined that for us to have the greatest impact, the I AM Center needed to take their services out  into the community. Realigning our programs and organizational structure helped us accomplish this goal, and we continue our outreach.

In 2006 the national organization, Center for Radiance, was incorporated in the State of Florida. This was done with the intent of opening Radiance Centers around the country. In 2009 the I AM Center became Radiance of Sarasota, becoming a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, an affiliate of Center for Radiance nationwide. Our sister centers are:  in California is Radiance of Lake Tahoe  and Radiance of Portland  in Oregon. As community focused well-being, inspiration, and education centers we are expanding the powerful work done within these centers into the community and across the nation.
